We also offer buyer protection and seller protection via PayPal, so you can get your money back if something goes wrong with a purchase or sale, provided certain conditions are met.

Buyer Protection via PayPal

If you do not receive your item or if it is significantly different from the description, PayPal can help you get your money back. Examples of situations covered by buyer protection:

  • You do not receive your item.

  • You ordered a DVD player but received a stereo.

  • You ordered three items but only received two.

  • You receive the item, but important parts are missing (and the seller did not inform you).

Conditions for Buyer Protection

To qualify for buyer protection, the following conditions must be met:

  1. The item is physical and can be shipped by post or courier.

  2. You have paid the full amount in a single PayPal payment.

  3. You have opened a dispute within 45 days of purchase. If no resolution is reached within 20 days, escalate the dispute to a claim with PayPal.

Exceptions

Buyer protection does not cover:

  • Items that violate PayPal’s or eBay’s terms

  • Non-physical items (services or digital goods)

  • Real estate, businesses, vehicles, custom-made products

  • Airline or travel tickets

  • Items equivalent to cash (e.g., gift cards)

How to Proceed

  1. Make sure your purchase meets the conditions.

  2. Log in to PayPal and open a dispute in the Resolution Center within 45 days of purchase.

  3. Wait for the seller’s response – you have 20 days to reach an agreement.

  4. If no resolution is reached within 20 days, escalate the dispute to a claim. PayPal will then make a decision.
